NORMA BATES

http://www.myspace.com/normabates

Inspired by everything from Ramones to AC/DC. Crazy rock'n'punk with lots of energy- All bow before Norma Bates!

Childhood friends Julia Blomgren and Jenny Sjöström, drummer Pär Ekberg and guitarist Christian Massana met each other in a recording studio in Stockholm. They wrote a song recorded it right then and there and decided to keep making music together. That's how easy it is in the world of rock n' roll & punk. Just like that. No fuss. Positive, forward thinking, energetic punk rock with a rock n' roll attitude, that´s what Norma Bates is all about. Since they started out 2004 Norma Bates have made a name for themselves as an industrious and energetic "livemachine" with a support gig for Punk Rock Queen "Texas Terri" amongst the merits.

And no, there isn't a letter missing in the band name. It's not the psychopath Norman Bates from Hitchcocks classic horror movie "Psycho" (1960) that inspired the name. According to the band the inspiration came from his alter ego, Norma Bates, i.e his stuffed mother.

Norma Bates consists of:

Julia Blomgren, vocals.
Jenny Massana, bass. (My Orchard).
Pär Ekberg, drums
Christian Massana, guitar.

The debut single "Bow down" produced by Pontus Frisk, was released in November 2007 by HGM Records. The debut album "Hey you! Get down!", also produced by Pontus Frisk, was recorded at Decibel Studios, Stockholm and Sidelake Studios, Sundsvall. It is set to be released in January 2010 by Ninetone records/Universal.

The first single off the album "Hey you! Get down!" was released in November 2008. The new single "40 days" out in November 2009
