Hector: From Schoolyard Performances to Swedish Pop Scene

Pop

Hector began singing at age 13 but didn't dare perform for others until age 14. His musical journey took off after a performance at his school's yard concert, which led to performances around Härnösand and on the well-known stage Katalin in Uppsala. In 2016, Hector participated in Idol and reached top 20. That same year was challenging as he struggled with mental health and came out as a transgender person through a video on his YouTube channel, which received overwhelming positive response. After a period of sick leave, he signed a record deal with Ninetone Records and collaborated with Arrhult and Joakim Lundell. He released the singles "Hold You Back" and "Phobia", the latter about transphobia. His first songs in Swedish, "Blå" and "Glöm mig", were followed in 2021 by "Inte mer än så". Hector's music reflects his personal journey and courage to express himself through his songs, making him a strong voice on the Swedish pop scene.
