The Refreshments: Sweden's Rock'n'Roll Masters

Rock

The Refreshments is an iconic Swedish rock band formed in 1989 in Gävle. Known for their work ethic and impressive array of Top Ten albums in Sweden, they have drawn inspiration from 1950s American Rock & Roll and 1970s British pub rock. Originally, the band consisted of Joakim Arnell (bass, vocals), Micke Finell (saxophone, vocals, guitar), Mats Forsberg (drums), Robin Olsson (guitar, vocals) and Johan Blohm (piano, vocals). The band has collaborated with prominent musicians such as Billy Bremner, who produced their debut album Both Rock'n'Roll and played guitar on the follow-up Trouble Boys. Their most successful album, Are You Ready (1999), contained the hit Miss You Miss Belinda. They have also released popular albums such as Rock'n'Roll X-Mas (2003), which reached number one on the Swedish music chart. The Refreshments continues to dominate the Swedish music scene with their timeless rock.
